Competition results for market Senjak in Belgrade

Koste Glavinića i Bulevara vojvode Mišića.

Municipal “Savski venac” in collaboration with Belgrade Association of Architects announced the urban-architectural competition for the solution of  market "Senjak" in Belgrade. The results can be found on the  DAB’s website , I’ll present you one of three special price made by ArhStudio design, by authors:  Gordana Minic,M.Arch. and Aleksandar Bajic,M.Arch.More about project HERE.
The authors emphasized the idea of linking the market and town square in a single unit, and then the integration of the newly created unit in the existing urban core, in order to preserve the existing character of the site and also to improve it.
Good lighting and ventilation are achieved through transparency of ground floor shops, which enables a clear orientation in space, comfortable working conditions inside the facility and easy fitting into the context.
We achieved a continuity of pedestrian access and flow. The area of new open square (elevation 85.00m, level 0) is now gathering spaces for pedestrians, a meeting place that brings together existing and planned pedestrian flows. In order to find a rational solution, we provided keeping  temporary buildings along the  Kosta Glavinića streets, which is now refine with tree rows and additional space for parking and thus achieved a new view of the street.
Market place at the level of -1 contains technical facilities, warehouses, shops for sale of various goods (fish, meat, milk products, flowers, bakery), covered multi-function market space, information desk and café. After the relocation of movable stands and storaging in the specified area, the space of the market transforms into a clean covered area that serves as a proving ground, skate-park, exhibition area, ..
Multi functional square (level 0) is designed to enhance the natural advantage of location-view of the river in the direction toward Boulevard Vojvode Misic. The task was maximum use and promotion of the advantages of location, as a dominant and recognizable feature of this mikroceline. Continuous paths provide a visual and physical connections between Kosta Glavinica Street and Boulevard Vojvode Misic, and smooth motion.
This public open space is envisaged as a center of gathering and retaining in this part of town. The square is designed for a variety of modes and a stages, like: for cultural events, sports and recreation and other happenings.

BEOGRADSKI SINDIKAT

Dobra vest

The good news
We are aware that we live in a time when a man forgets what it means to be human, we felt the need to publish the album in  this way. We believe that people who these songs are dedicated to are not our audience, or consumers, or our successors, or fans, but friends with whom we wish to share our ideas. Today, when everything is on sale, when everybody running to succeed, when everything and everyone has a price and when money became the only measure of value, we have decided to share this album with you on the Internet - free of charge, with the hope that you will share this good news with others. We want our lyrics to be support on the way to ALLTOGETHER become better people. This album is dedicated to discrete heroes, all those who leads the daily battle, who do not surrender no matter the circumstances, that never put themselves ahead of others, and above all, still believe in tomorrow. This album is dedicated to them, to you.

Archibald

Upoznajte  Archibald-a!

Najviše me zasmeje kad prepoznam svoje probleme, ili svoju okolinu u stipu. I love it.

Pored svih svojih arhitektonskih obaveza,  Archibald ima misiju:
  1. Da promoviše arhitekturu.
  2. Da ohrabri diskusije na polju arhitekture, i srodnim temama.
OVDE.

Meet up Archibald!
Archibald is an architect who runs an architecture office together with his friend and engineer Gerald. They also employ staff like Ina, the interior architect, JOHN, the IT-manager, MR. SHAN, the model builder,... Because of his profession Archibald interacts with contractors, clients, developers and other construction professionals...
They have usual problems with investors, just like all of us; they have similar dose of vanity as we all architects have, and more. Mike Hermans shows these caracters with carefully selected and humorous details.. He makes me laugh when I recognize my own problems, or people who I work with. I love it.
Besides his work in his office Archibald has a mission to:
  1. Promote architecture worldwide.
  2. Enhance the discussion on architecture and all related subjects.
  3. Improve communication between all building partners.
If you like to meet up those gays, to support Archibalds mission as well, subscribe to the daily strip. HERE. You'll receive it in your mailbox every day for free.
